Rest Day

Oh I had a day full in a list
A wish list of things to do
but when you looked at me
I think within, I knew, I knew

I would be sleeping the day in
with you at my side and just laugh
in exchanging stories and inside jokes
oh and I would try my best not to be so rough

Because the pace is too fast and we need to find shelter
against the wind, the tide and this crazy weather
of the time, of the pressure and of our wants
So maybe you're right to take day off for once

And it wouldn't be a waste I know and you knew
cause we'd just follow our heart on queue
and it would take us to slumber and peace
and some alone time, something that we've missed

And as moons shows up with the stars
I'd make a toast to our scars
they've healed up and we're ready to fight
but first let's cuddle up tonight
